If A Long Term Business Is What You’re After!
Let’s face it! You spend lots of time, effort and resources in generating subscribers. As a smart internet marketer you realize exactly how valuable a prospect list is to the welfare of your business.
More importantly, you know all too well how much a highly responsive list can add to your bottom line. That in itself is reason enough to keep cultivating more and more subscribers.
Still, it may surprise you that plenty of marketers with lists (regardless how small) have them sitting by the waste side, collecting dust.
No doubt, other than your website or blog, your list is your most priced online possession. Why then are you neglecting it?
Let me give you three real reasons why you should constantly and continuously stay in touch with your prospects:
1. Out of sight, Out Of Mind.
With so much email bombarding your prospects daily from so many different places about so many different topics, your subscribers get lost in a sea of mostly useless junk.
They quickly tune out and move on to other things. If you don’t make an effort to stay on your subscriber’s mind on a regular and consistent basis, you’ll become one of the junk statistics rather quickly and be forgotten completely.
Send out emails to your prospects at regular intervals. Don’t just bombard their inbox when you have a “hot” product to promote. Stay in touch by offering them tips, tricks, hints, thoughts, ideas or general information about their interest.
You will not only be on their mind continuously, you’ll actually get them to spend their money a lot easier when you do send them a promo email because they know who you are.
2. Give And You Will Receive.
It seems to be a hard concept to grasp: give something first before you expect your prospects to spend their money. Yet time and again, this simple idea is being turned upside down by many marketers.
Just because you are constantly sending your prospects emails offering the latest products on the net doesn’t mean they’ll buy them from you.
You must cater to your prospects and let them know that you appreciate them being on your list. Show them they are valuable to you at all times, not just when they purchase something.
Again, share free inside information, offer a bit of free advice, it doesn’t have to be much. Just show your good intentions and above all be real.
3. Once A Customer, Always A Customer.
There is plenty of data available that shows that once someone buys from you, they are apt to buy again from you in the future … unless of course you give them the worst service in the world or sell them the crappiest product ever created.
Presuming this is not the case, staying in touch, especially with your customers, is crucial to your long term success.
Just because a prospect bought from you already, doesn’t mean you should only contact her when you have another product to sell. Customers want to feel important and special. It’s up to you to make them feel that way.
Show them you appreciate their business by asking them how they like the product they bought from you. Is it helping them? Can you assist them in any way?
Existing customers are indeed much more likely to purchase from you again, but only if they are treated well, especially after the sale. You wouldn’t go back buying something from a store where they treated you like crap now would you? What makes you think then an internet customer is any different?

Running a business takes commitment, dedication and devotion. Nowhere does this apply more than in following up with your subscribers and your customers, constantly and continuously.
But don’t follow the pack and send out emails that don’t stand out, that don’t have an impact. Use every opportunity available to stay in touch with your prospects and customers and be different.
Send out a birthday card (if you know their birthday of course), a holiday wish, a special tip or whatever you can think of that isn’t your daily generic email most of your customers and subscribers probably receive by the hundreds.
Stay in touch with your lists on a regular basis and watch your profits soar. It’s a mathematical equation for success you can’t argue with.
