Mini-Course; Lesson 1: In The Beginning!

Today I am starting a mini-course that teaches you how to increase your online ranking, your subscribers base and your sales in a quick and massive way.

What you’ll be learning here over the next five days is an actual internet marketing technique, that, other than your time, doesn’t cost you a penny, yet will give your blog a gigantic boost almost overnight.

Let’s get started shall we?

In the beginning, you create a blog that you’ll use as your master vehicle. It’s where you’ll post fresh content and have a subscription form and promote your products/services.

The reason I pick a blog over a website is simple: a blog is easier to setup and maintain and … all the important ingredients you are going to need in lessons 2, 3, 4 and 5 of this mini-course are already included with most blogs. No need to spend time reinventing the wheel.

What layout of blog you choose doesn’t matter. What does matter is this:

Blogging Basics:

- Choose a blog theme with white background. It makes your content easier to read.
- Pick a layout that has RSS feed included (most blog themes now have that option).
- Make sure the blog theme you want is search engine optimized (if not, you will have to download a special module, which is OK, just means more work on your part).
- If possible, use your own domain name to host your blog and use your main keyword as your domain name.
- Use your main keyword as the title of your blog.

You can use any free blogging software you like (blogger.com or WordPress.org). Personally, I recommend you use WordPress. It has more feature that will come in handy later on and most of this mini-course relates to WordPress. That makes it easier for you to follow along and implement what you learn.

If you can’t afford to have your own domain name right now, use the free hosting service that comes with your blog. Important to note is that you use your main keyword as the URL for your blog.

With your blog active, here’s the first thing you must do (this applies only if you’re using WordPress):

-Log in your blog as the administrator.
-Click on Settings
-Click on Permalinks
-Change the Common Settings To Custom and insert this tag
“/%postname%/” (without the quotes).
This will make sure that your content headings are used to name your
web pages and not the default numeric setting.
-Save your new settings.

With this option set, now click on the Links option and remove all the default links. Don’t worry what they are about, you won’t need any of them.

You are now ready to write your first blog post.

You have one of two choices. You can either write an “About” post and share with your readers what your blog is all about or

You can write an actual post that deals with the topic of your blog. Always do your best to provide real solutions to real problems (regarding your blog’s topic of course). Don’t worry yet about monetizing your blog. We’ll get to that in a later session.

Publicize your post and Voila, you are ready for business.

It’s time to put your blog out there, so people can find it.

For that you are going to use two free services: Pingomatic.com and Pingoat.com.

These services will inform blogging directories about your new blog and will begin to drive traffic to your blog.

Using these two services is very simple. The only two things you need to fill out for either one of these services is the name of your blog and the URL of your blog.

Use the “Check All” feature at both sites and click on “Send Ping“.

That’s it, you’re done. Your new blog is now being blasted into the internetosphere (®) and people will begin to find your blog.

In the next courses you will discover how to drive serious traffic, get subscribers and make sales.

Now you can spend the rest of your day thinking up and jotting down new topics you can write about in your blog at future times.

You can also start doing research at Clickbank.com or Paydotcom.com, looking for products that fit your chosen topic, that you can promote as an affiliate.
