… Without A Web Site.
Making money online is for many a complicated task; so it seems. Given the overwhelming availability of “proven” how-to methods, it’s no wonder plenty of marketers are confused.
If you’re one of them, don’t sweat it. I am about to shed light on all the confusion. Below you’ll find an actual 9 step plan that doesn’t take much money or know-how to get started, yet it will let you build a solid foundation towards an ever growing, lasting and profitable online business.
1. Define your product.
Create a clear picture of the product you wish to promote online. It’s important you are specific. Example: pop music or triathlon training gear or cat care products.
2. Define your market.
With your product clearly defined, you now need to specify the market you wish to target. Example: pop music for teens ages 12 to 14 or triathlon equipment for affluent females, ages 25 to 35 or Main Coon care.
3. Define your keywords.
Use Google Adwords to define keywords (search terms) that are specific to your targeted market and product.
Use long tail (2 or 3 words) keywords. These words are usually a better match and quite often search terms people use.
4. Get web hosting and domain name.
You could start of with a free Blogger account. However, having your own domain name makes you appear professional and builds trust.
You can pick any hosting company and domain registration company you like. Personally I’ve been using Hostgator.com as my hosting company and Namecheap.com as my domain registrar for 8 years now without any problems.
Use one of your main keywords for your domain name. Example: PopBeatsForTeens.com or TriathlonGearForWoman.com or MainCoonCare.com
5. Put up a squeezepage.
You will need to make use of an autoresponder to build your subscribers list. There is just no other way around this if long term online success is what you’re after.
You can use companies like aWeber.com or GetResponse.com. Both companies have excellent track records and offer superb support.
To build your squeeze page, you can use any text editor to write your opt-in form (if you know HTML) or you can take advantage of free HTML editors such as Kompozer.com or free WYSIWIG editors (What You See Is What You Get), such as FreeWebBuilder.com.
You can download my free squeeze page guide to learn all the details how to build a high converting opt-in form.
6. Promote your squeezepage.
There are all sorts of things you can do to bring traffic (visitors) to your domain name:
For instant traffic, you could use PPC (Pay Per Click). It will cost you money but you can expect to get visitors in less than one hour after posting your first PPC ad.
For more traffic options, you can read my previous post about rocket boosting your traffic.
7. Develop a strong relationship with your subscribers.
As you build your list, it’s important you build relationships with your subscribers based on honesty and trust. Don’t be afraid to share lots of free, solid information with your subscribers. Give them access to free downloads, free tips and other goodies that will build your goodwill with them.
Don’t be too eager to push the sale. Don’t worry, with the next step, sales will come in droves.
8. Find out what your subscribers want.
Include surveys in your relationship building emails. Ask your prospects what exactly they look for online or how you can assist them getting what they want or how you can make things easier for them.
9. Give your subscribers what they want.
Now that you have a solid relationship with your prospects and you know exactly what they want, it’s up to you to give it to them. You can either create your own product or promote someone else’s product as an affiliate.
To find an affiliate product about your topic type in “your product name + affiliate” (without “”) in your favorite search engine.
Example: triathlon gear affiliate
You’ll get a list of affiliate programs for your chosen topic. Pick the one or ones you like best and sign up.
Send an email to your subscribers informing them that you found a solution to their problem. Tell them that it is very informative. Let them know that they can check out your recommendation themselves at
P.S. Here’s a secret sales tip I learned that has proven to be invaluable for me in getting a lot of sales: Never push or hard sell your prospects to buy.
I learned that soft selling is much more powerful and brings in many more sales consistently. In other words, tell your prospect you found what they told you they need help with and let them know where they can check it out.
Then let them decide if they want to buy it or not. You’ll be pleasantly surprised to discover how well this works.

Making money online is not as hard, as difficult or as confusing as many marketers think it is. The plan above works if you are willing to work it and above all, stick to it.
